The Venice Vignette

Dear Venice,

So many have written about you, to you, in spite of you. You are a buzz word with pinched wings and a bursting spirit. Canals and crevices crashing onto paper; no one can decide whether to commemorate you or condemn you.

Actually, that’s not entirely true. Most who visit you are certain in the way they have choosen to feel about you, myself included.

I commerate you in the best way I know how. Let me be the first writer to visit you and refrain from writing about you.

I think words are starting to clog your canals. Let’s clear your veins and display the autopsies of your soul instead.
